1. Purpose

Backspace is an Android application that helps you free up space on your phone by going through your photo library and suggesting what you could delete. These terms govern your use of the app.

By installing Backspace, you accept them.

2. What the app does, and what it never decides on its own

Backspace suggests. You decide.

No item is moved to the trash without you confirming a screen that names the number of items and their destination, and then the Android system confirmation dialog. There is no automatic deletion in the app, no scheduled deletion, and no shortcut that would bypass that confirmation.

Confirmed items are moved to the system trash, where they stay recoverable for 30 days. Backspace has no means of permanently deleting a file.

3. Free of charge, and no subscription

The app is free and unlimited in use: there is no cap on the number of items you may review or delete, neither per session nor per day.

It is funded by advertising. A single one-time purchase, «No ads», removes it for good. There is no subscription, no trial period and no renewal. Purchases are handled by Google Play and subject to its terms, including its refund policy.

4. Your responsibilities

You alone are responsible for choosing which items you delete. We recommend keeping a backup of your photos, independently of this app.

You undertake to use Backspace in accordance with the law and not to attempt to divert its operation.

5. Permissions

The app asks for access to your photos and videos. That is its very function: without that access it has nothing to analyse. It also works with partial access, on the selection you grant, and says so clearly in that case.

It asks for no write permission on shared storage, and explicitly refuses access to the location recorded inside your photos.

6. Availability and changes

The app is provided «as is». We may modify it, update it or stop distributing it. The features described may evolve from one version to the next.

7. Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by applicable law, FONTENAY IT cannot be held liable for data loss resulting from your use of the app, in particular the deletion of items you confirmed, nor for the consequences of a recovery not carried out within the 30-day window offered by the system trash.

Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.

8. Intellectual property

The app, its name, its brand and its graphic elements belong to FONTENAY IT. Lunqo Labs is a brand of FONTENAY IT, not a separate company. Your photos and videos remain yours: the app claims no right over them and keeps no copy of them.

9. Personal data

See the privacy policy, which forms an integral part of these terms.

10. Governing law

These terms are governed by Tunisian law, the publisher being established in Tunisia. Failing an amicable settlement, the competent courts are those of Tunis.

This clause deprives no consumer of the mandatory protections granted by the law of their country of residence: where those apply, they prevail.
